Fitness Assessment Info on Performance ReportsAuthor: HQ USAF/DP//PENTAGON
SUBJECT: (U) RECORDING FITNESS PROGRAM ASSESSMENTS 1. IN JAN 04, THE CSAF IMPLEMENTED CHANGES TO OUR FITNESS PROGRAM WITH PARTICULAR ATTENTION ON OUR PREPAREDNESS TO DEPLOY AND FIGHT. THIS SHIFT BROUGHT ABOUT SIGNIFICANT CHANGES IN THE WAY WE MANAGE FITNESS STANDARDS AND THE APPROPRIATENESS OF ADMINISTRATIVE ACTIONS ASSOCIATED WITH INDIVIDUAL READINESS. 2. TODAY, COMMANDERS ARE INTEGRATING FITNESS INTO THEIR UNITS WITH A MINDSET MORE FOCUSED ON OUR WARRIOR CULTURE. AFTER THE PROGRAM MATURES AND AT THE RIGHT TIME, WE WILL INSTITUTE POLICY CHANGES FOR COMMANDER EVALUATION REPORTS THAT REFLECT THE SUCCESS OF THEIR UNITS. THIS EFFORT WILL ALSO INCLUDE HOW WE DOCUMENT INDIVIDUAL FITNESS PERFORMANCE RELATIVE TO MEETING OR EXCEEDING STANDARDS ON EPRS/OPRS.
3. AT THIS TIME, IT IS INAPPROPRIATE FOR SUPERVISORS AND COMMANDERS TO MENTION FITNESS ASSESSMENT INFORMATION ON PERFORMANCE REPORTS. GUIDANCE ON THIS ISSUE WILL BE PROVIDED AFTER THE FIRST ROUND OF TESTING IS COMPLETED, TO INCLUDE A THOROUGH REVIEW OF ESTABLISHED STANDARDS, SCORING METHODOLOGY AND METRICS. REPEAT, IT IS INAPPROPRIATE TO MENTION FITNESS INFORMATION (POSITIVE/NEGATIVE) IN PERFORMANCE REPORTS. AS THE PROGRAM MATURES, WE WILL CONSIDER THE MOST APPROPRIATE WAY TO ROLL FITNESS PERFORMANCE (POSITIVE/NEGATIVE) INTO A WHOLE PERSON REVIEW.
NOTE: THERE ARE NO SYSTEM UPDATES FOR THIS PROGRAM.
